World Health Day is celebrated each year on 7 April to mark the anniversary of the World Health Organization (WHO), which was founded in 1948 to promote global health. World Health Day also provides an opportunity to focus world attention on a health problem or issue that deserves special attention, such as AIDS, malaria, poverty or lack of education. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the WHO and this year's theme is 'depression'.
