What is Ciproxin?
Ciproxin is a broad spectrum antibiotic. Its active substance belongs to the group of ciproflaxacin fluoroquinolones, medication that kills many types of bacteria. This medicine is available as a tablet and as a drink. You can order Ciproxin online through the pharmacies that work with Dokteronline.com.
What is this medication used for?
Doctors prescribe Ciproxin against various bacterial infections. It is effective, among other things, against the following diseases:
- Urinary tract infections (eg cystitis or pyelonephritis);
- Respiratory tract infections such as pneumonia, otitis media and sinusitis;
- Infections of the prostate;
- Infections in the gastrointestinal tract;
- Inflammation in the bones or joints;

Ciproxin is absorbed into the blood through the gastrointestinal tract and reaches all tissues and organs. The symptoms of the infection should be reduced after several days.
How to use Ciproxin?
The partner pharmacies offer Ciproxin available online as a tablet and as a suspension (drink). Swallow the tablets whole with plenty of water. The suspension is supplied in two bottles, one with a solvent, and one with grains. Loosen the grains first in the bottle with the solvent and shake the bottle well. You can measure the dose using the supplied measuring spoon. The suspension can be used up until two weeks after preparation. It is important to drink a lot during the use of antibiotics. Do not take the medicine simultaneously with calcium-rich products (yogurt, yogurt drinks, milk or juices that are fortified with calcium) as this may reduce the effectiveness of the drug. Always finish the prescribed cure.
Ciproxin is available in various dosages. A doctor will determine what dose to use. The general guidelines for the dosage of Ciproxin are as follows:
- Adults: twice daily a dose of 1 to 250 mg, 500 mg or 750 mg during the prescribed period.
For children and young people a doctor may prescribe a customized dosage. Read the instructions before use.
Ciproxin can cause side effects. Symptoms that might occur are:
- Gastrointestinal complaints (nausea, diarrhea, loss of appetite);
- photosensitive reactions of the skin (beware with sunlight and tanning);
- Joint pain
- Difficulties sleeping.
If you experience these or other side effects, please consult a doctor or pharmacist. The leaflet provides more information about the possible side effects of this medication.
When is it best not to use this medication?
Ciproxin is not a suitable medicine for everyone. Do not use this medication if you:
- are Hypersensitive to Ciproxin or any of the excipients used;
- use the medicine tizanidine.
Consult with a doctor whether you can take Ciproxin if you suffer from epilepsy, abnormal heart rhythms, muscle weakness or other health problems. This antibiotic has an interaction with a number of other medications. A doctor knows which medicines cannot be combined with each other.
Pregnancy / driving / alcohol
The use of Ciproxin is not recommended during pregnancy. Do not use this medicine if you are breast feeding, unless a doctor recommends otherwise. This medicine may make you feel less alert. Do not participate in traffic if you suffer from this side effect. Liquor can trigger or increase the side effects of Ciproxin. Moderate or discontinue your use of alcohol as long as you need to take these antibiotics.
