Emergency contraception (morning-after pill)

Last update:

If you had unprotected sex or missed a birth control pill, it is a good idea to have a back up plan like the morning-after pill. The morning-after pill prevents ovulation, which, in turn, minimises the chance of pregnancy. The morning-after pill consists of one pill which, depending on the type of pill, must be taken within five days of unprotected intercourse. No need to worry about making a normal mistake, just keep one in the medicine cabinet for when you need it.
