What is Ovysmen?
Ovysmen contains the ingredients norethisterone and ethinylestradiol. These are the same as the female hormones estrogen and progesterone. You use Ovysmen to prevent pregnancy. The pill ensures that no ovulation takes place, so that you will not become pregnant. Ovysmen also makes the fluid (mucus) in the cervix thicker, which makes it more difficult for sperm to reach the uterus.
On the first menstruation day you start taking Ovysmen. For 21 days you take the pill on the day that is indicated on the strip. Choose a fixed time, preferably in the evening before going to sleep. When the strip is empty, you will not take the pill for 7 days. After 2 to 3 days after taking the last pill, bleeding occurs. After this stop-week, you will start with the next pack again on the same day as you started the previous strip. Taking Ovysmen makes it possible to plan the time of menstruation. You can postpone or move around the first day. Read the leaflet how to do this.
