Tavegil tablets are a form of allergy medication or a sedating antihistamine. These pills contain the active ingredient Clemastine, which is a form of medication that works to prevent the activity of histamine in the bloodstream, keeping allergic reactions to a minimum.

What are Tavegil tablets?

Tavegil pills are a medication used for the treatment of allergies. These pills help to prevent and reduce the impact of allergic reactions using the active ingredient clemastine. The ingredient clemastine is a sedating antihistamine that prevents the actions of histamine, a substance in the body that works to protect you from allergens.

Histamine is stored in virtually all tissues of the body. It reacts when your body is exposed to a foreign substance, such as dust or pollen. Histamine binds to certain receptors in the body, causing an increase in blood flow to that area, along with a chain reaction of allergic symptoms. All of this results in symptoms like a runny nose, inflammation of the eyes and even trouble with the airways.

Histamine can also cause rashes, itching and swelling in the skin, depending on the kind of foreign body that it is reacting to. By preventing the reaction of histamine from taking place, Tavegil helps to eliminate some of the symptoms associated with an allergic reaction.

What are Tavegil tablets used for?

Tavegil is intended as a treatment to help prevent or reduce the risk of allergic reactions. It cannot protect the body in the case of a severe and sudden allergic reaction. If this happens, you will require emergency medical attention. Tavegil works by blocking the histamine receptors in your body. It does not stop your body from releasing histamine, but instead stops that substance from binding to receptors, which prevents the release of other allergy chemicals.

Tavegil is a kind of sedating antihistamine. This means that it enters your brain in more significant quantities than a non- sedating antihistamine. Because of this, Tavegil may cause drowsiness.

Tavegil can relieve the itching caused by chickenpox and eczema.

However, your doctor will usually only recommend using Tavegil if you suffer regularly from constant exposure to allergens. If you simply have some occasional allergic reactions to things like pollen during certain parts of the year, a different kind of treatment may be prescribed for you.

How to use Tavegil tablets to treat allergy symptoms

When your doctor prescribes Tavegil for the treatment of your allergies, they will provide you with information on how to use it and also how to store this medication correctly. It is important to follow these instructions carefully, as not using Tavegil tablets correctly could mean that you do not get the best results from the medication. Before you begin using this treatment, read through the information included in the patient leaflet within the packaging (patient leaflet attached below).

The manufacturer’s leaflet included with your medication will provide information on the way that Tavegil works as well as the kind of side effects that you may experience when taking it. It is important to take Tavegil exactly as you are instructed to do so by your doctor or pharmacist. You should swallow this medication with water or without before or after meals each day. Importantly, you might find that you are less likely to have gastrointestinal issues if you take Tavegil with a meal.

It is best to take Tavegil at the same time each day, so you remember to use it regularly. This is a form of long-term treatment intended to protect you against various forms of allergen. If you forget to take a dose of Tavegil, just take the next dose when it is due and continue as normal. It is important not to take a double dose of Tavegil to make up for a missed pill. Most people will only need to use this medication for a short period until their symptoms have improved.

What is the correct dosage for Tavegil allergy relief tablets?

It is important not to take more or less Tavegil than your doctor prescribes. You will be given a dose of medication based on your condition, the severity of it and your medical history. Some doctors may start you on a lower dose of Tavegil to see how well you respond to it before moving you to a higher dose. Unless your doctor advises otherwise, the most common dose for Tavegil is one tablet of 1 mg taken twice each day for an adult. Usually, it is best to space these doses out by taking one in the morning and one in the evening.

Does Tavegil have any side effects?

Many medications, including Tavegil, can have side effects that may cause discomfort for some people. Although it is possible to take these pills without any negative repercussions, Tavegil can cause side effects for different people depending on how their body reacts to the active ingredients. Keep in mind that just because we mention a side effect here, this does not mean that you will experience it.

Additionally, you may notice symptoms after taking Tavegil that are not listed here, or in the medication leaflet. If that happens, seek guidance from your doctor or pharmacist.

Common side effects like drowsiness or fatigue will occur after taking Tavegil for most people, however, you can avoid this by taking the medication in the evening when possible. Some people will also experience dizziness or light-headedness after taking Tavegil.
