What is Tramadol Actavis (Zeridame)?
Tramadol Actavis (Zeridame) is a type of medicine called an opioid painkiller. The active ingredient tramadol works by blocking the transmission of pain signals in the central nervous system. This helps relieve moderate to severe pain. Tramadol Actavis (Zeridame) is a very powerful painkiller. It is used when paracetamol or other anti-inflammatory analgesics such as ibuprofen or aspirin do not provide adequate pain relief.
What is Tramadol Actavis (Zeridame) used for?
Tramadol Actavis (Zeridame) is used to relieve severe pain such as:
- Pain from injury or surgery;
- Nerve pain;
This medicine can also be used to treat pain from other sources.
How to use Tramadol Actavis (Zeridame)
Tramadol Actavis (Zeridame) is available in capsule form. The capsules should be swallowed whole with plenty of water. They can be taken with or without food. Tramadol Actavis (Zeridame) takes about half an hour to take effect. This medicine should be taken at the lowest possible dose for the shortest possible time to prevent habituation.
Unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor, the recommended dose is:
- Adults and children aged 12 and above: one to two 50-mg capsules every four to six hours.
Do not exceed the maximum daily dose of 400 mg (i.e. eight 50-mg capsules). Tramadol Actavis (Zeridame) is not suitable for children under the age of 12. Do not exceed the prescribed dose and read the package leaflet before use.
Tramadol Actavis (Zeridame) may cause side effects, including:
- Sleepiness, drowsiness;
- Nausea and vomiting;
- Dry mouth;

When not to use Tramadol Actavis (Zeridame)
Tramadol Actavis (Zeridame) is not suitable for everyone. Do not use this painkiller if:
- You are allergic to tramadol or any other ingredient in this medicine;
- You are pregnant;
- You have uncontrolled epilepsy;
- You are under the influence of alcohol, sleeping tablets or other medicines or stimulants that work via the central nervous system;
- You are taking or have recently taken a type of medicine called a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI).
Seek medical advice if you have a health condition that is not listed above or are currently on medication. Tramadol interacts with other medicines such as antidepressants and some medicines for cardiac arrhythmia. It is therefore important to tell the doctor what other medicines and nutritional supplements you are taking when you order. Do not use Tramadol Actavis (Zeridame) if you are pregnant. Consult your doctor on the use of this painkiller if you are breastfeeding. Tramadol Actavis (Zeridame) may cause you to feel sleepy or drowsy and can slow down your reaction time, especially in the initial phase of treatment. Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how this medicine affects you and you are sure you can do so safely. Avoid alcohol while taking Tramadol Actavis (Zeridame) as the will increase the chance of side effects. Note: It is not allowed to order more than 400 mg Tramadol a day, with a max. of 30 days, per order. These orders will be disapproved by the doctor and pharmacy.
