This medicine is used against high blood pressure, but also in case of heart failure: a condition in which the heart does not pump strongly enough. Zestril dilates blood vessels, reducing blood pressure which allows the heart to work more efficiently.

Use Zestril as much as possible at a fixed time of day. Swallow the tablet without chewing with some liquid. You can take this medicine with or without food. If you forget to take Zestril, do it as soon as possible, unless it is almost time for your next dose. Never take a double dose to make up for the forgotten tablet.
