Invicorp is a treatment for erectile dysfunction (ED) that is injected into the penis. It is a combination of two active ingredients vasoactive intestinal polypeptide (VIP, also called aviptadil) and phentolamine, which affect blood flow to and from the penis. Phentolamine works by relaxing the blood vessels, allowing more blood to flow into the penis. VIP reduces blood flow out of the penis. The overall effect is that blood enters and accumulates in the penis, resulting in an erection. Invicorp injections are given to the base of the penis. As a result, Invicorp works faster than erection-inducing tablets.

Invicorp is a treatment for erectile dysfunction (ED) that is injected into the penis. Phentolamine works by relaxing the blood vessels, allowing more blood to flow into the penis. VIP reduces blood flow out of the penis. What is it used for?
Invicorp is prescribed in the treatment of ED, sometimes known as impotence. Erectile dysfunction is when a man has difficulty getting or maintaining an erection that is adequate to allow gratifying sexual performance. ED is often related to poor blood flow in the penis. Although age can affect erectile function, ED can also be caused by other problems, such as medical conditions, medication, excessive alcohol or drug use, stress or other psychological issues. Invicorp temporarily increases blood flow to the penis and works rapidly after sexual stimulation to produce an erection suitable for sexual intercourse.
How to use Invicorp
Invicorp is a solution that is injected into the base of the penis with an ultrafine needle. It will not cause the penis to be fully rigid – this will only be achieved with sexual stimulation. Erection occurs about five to ten minutes after the injection and lasts between 30 and 240 minutes. See package leaflet for more information on how to give the intracavernosal injection and follow these instructions closely.
Dosage
Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, the usual treatment for adults is one dose of Invicorp five to ten minutes before sexual activity, injected into the penis according to the information on the package leaflet. Inject no more than once a day and three times a week. Invicorp is for men with ED.
Women or individuals younger than 18 years of age should not use it.
Side effects
Invicorp may have side effects, although of course not everyone will get them. The most common are facial flushing, palpitations, increased heart rate, dizziness and headaches. See the package leaflet for more side effects, warnings and contraindications.
Driving ability / alcohol
Invicorp can in some cases cause dizziness. Do not drive if you experience this side effect.
Drinking alcohol can temporarily impair your ability to get an erection. To get the maximum benefit from your medicine, you are advised to limit or stop drinking alcohol while taking Invicorp.
