What is Zindaclin?
Zindaclin is an anti-inflammatory gel for external use on the skin. It contains the active ingredient clindamycin, which is an antibiotic medicine. Clindamycin works against certain types of bacteria that live on the skin. The gel kills the bacteria and helps keep the skin pure. Zindaclin is a prescription-only medicine.
What is Zindaclin used for?
Zindaclin is used to treat mild to moderate acne (adolescent spots). Acne is a skin condition that manifests itself through greasy skin, blackheads, clogged pores, pimples and subcutaneous infections. Zindaclin kills the bacteria that cause acne. It prevents new acne and reduces redness of existing acne, leaving the skin smooth and pure.
How to use Zindaclin
Zindaclin gel should be applied thinly to clean affected areas of skin (not just the individual spots) with the fingertips. Do not apply to broken or burned areas of skin and avoid getting the gel in contact with the eyes, nostrils and mouth. Wash your hands immediately after applying the gel. It may take a while for the benefits of Zindaclin gel to appear. Do not use this medicine continuously for more than 12 weeks without consulting a doctor.
Unless otherwise instructed by your doctor, the usual dose is:
- Adults and children aged 12 and above: apply the gel thinly to the affected areas once a day.
This medicine is not suitable for use in children under the age of 12. Read the package leaflet before use.
Like all medicines, Zindaclin may cause side effects. The following are some of the side effects that are known to be associated with this medicine:
